Contextual maps for the Church

I was commissioned by a real estate agent in Texas, USA to create a series of contextual maps for the strategic placement of a new church in the area. The maps included a choropleth visualization of median household income per census tract, and a 30-min drive-time isochrone map for existing churches.

I used data from the US Census, OpenStreetMap, mapbox basemaps and the mapbox isochrones API within a node script that automated the isochrone polygon creation. The maps were made in QGIS at a variety of scales to fit detailed views in Austin, San Antonio and the combined area.
